For collectors

Your collection, cared for and going somewhere

Independent advice for private, corporate and family collections, from someone who has run a commercial gallery, directed art fairs and built a public collection.

Who I work with

Three kinds of collection

Whether it’s twenty works or two hundred, most collections share the same gaps: no full record, no plan for what comes next, and works that need care nobody has organised.

Private

Private collectors

Individuals and couples who want to buy with more confidence and know what they already own.

Corporate

Corporate collections

Offices, hotels and developers who want a collection that fits the brand, the building and the budget.

Estates

Estates and families

Collections being inherited, divided, documented, placed or donated to a public institution.

How to start

Two ways to work together

Start with a review. If you want ongoing help after that, I quote advisory to your collection.

Start here

Collection Review

$1,500
  • Two hours with your collection, at your home or office or by video
  • An inventory of what you own and what records are missing
  • A gap analysis: documentation, care, display, insurance and direction
  • A written report with your priorities, within ten working days

Paid upfront, then choose your time. In-person reviews cover the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast; travel further afield is quoted.

Ongoing

Collection Advisory

From $950per month
  • Acquisition planning, and buying alongside you at galleries, fairs and auction
  • A collection register with images, provenance and paperwork
  • A care plan, with conservators, framers, storage and freight arranged
  • Display and rotation, loans to exhibitions, and Cultural Gifts Program donations

Quoted to the size and needs of your collection after a short call.

Why me

I’ve bought, sold and built collections

I know how dealers price, how fairs work, and what a public collection will and won’t accept.

Clear lines

The right expert for each job

Formal valuations, including for insurance and the Cultural Gifts Program, come from approved valuers. Hands-on conservation comes from accredited conservators. I brief them, manage them and make sure the work gets done.

Paid by you, never by the seller. I don’t take commissions from galleries, dealers or auction houses, so my advice on what to buy is only ever in your interest. I never hold or manage your money: you pay galleries, auction houses and specialists directly.
