Project One

SECCA (South East Centre for Contemporary Art) is a new space for art, culture and ideas in the heart of Bega, New South Wales. The program delivers an intellectual and artistic exchange of ideas, aiming to transgress and perforate existing boundaries, and to connect our community with the best local and global contemporary visual culture.

As SECCA Director (2014 - 2024) ICP principal Iain Dawson spearheaded the initiative with the Bega Valley Shire Council, attracting Federal, State and Local Government funding to complete the reimagining of the 30 year old Bega Valley Regional Gallery. Dawson oversaw the growth and diversification of SECCA's exhibition program, audience engagement, and cultural contribution to the region over his ten year tenure.
